Hi Cathy,
That was my question too. My daughter thinks I should do my own illustrations. I don't know of any publishers either. Maybe that's something I could research this week. Have you thought about doing your own illustrations? Who would know better than yourself how you would like the illustrations? Have you thought about doing the poem and printing it up yourself on your own computer into an e-book? I do have a self publishing paperback book somewhere here in my office. I'll try to find it and get back to you.

Good Morning Cathy,
My daughter says I draw well enough though I don't think so (to few of us do). Do you want it to be perfectly done? What would appeal to the age group you're targeting? Don't underestimate yourself. Look at Picasso. His work is both primitive looking and appealing too.
Here's an idea...
Why don't you do a rough draft of what you want in your illustration. Now ask 2 or 3 kids you're writing for what they think of it. They may give you some ideas too!

Thanks for the advice, PeJay.
I'm not sure of the age group, perhaps ages 2 through 6. It needs several scenes that emphasize directional words like up, down, over, under, inside, and outside. The story is about a small child looking for a cat.
I can draw scenery, but I'm not good at people or animals. Maybe I'll give stick people and animals a try.
